The Morgans

10-12 Noon

Since 1971, The Morgans have delighted audiences of all ages throughout the Northeast with old and new folksongs from Ireland, The British Isles, and New England's maritime tradition. Instrumentally, they get the hands clapping and the feet tapping.

In addition to their extensive repertoire of Irish and folk music, The Morgans have an affinity for the sea, and things nautical. Their presentation of sea chanteys (work songs), done in powerful multi-part harmonies, punctuated by the primal sound of bodhrans (traditional Celtic frame drums), recalls the days of wooden ships and iron men.  Instrumentally, they play a variety of traditional conventional and non-conventional instruments from the wind, string, and percussion families.

Fiesta Del Norte

6-8 PM

Dressed in traditional "charro" outfits, our repertoire spans from the Mariachis of Jalisco to the Nortenas of Chihuahua, to the harp music of  Vera Cruz, down to the Marimba music of Chiapas.  All this played on authentic instruments such as guitar, vihuela, guitarron, violin, harp, bajosexto, trumpet, accordion and marimba with beautiful singing throughout.  Song translations, storytelling and cultural insights are interwoven between musical numbers.

A hallmark of a Fiesta del Norte concert is the wonderful audience participation with singing, dancing, hand-clapping, maraca-shaking, and the joyful calls or 'gritos' heard on every song.  So put on your sombreros and celebrate with Fiesta del Norte!
