SUNDAY: GARDEN TRACTOR PULLS

(New England Tractor Pullers)

Tractor pulling started many years ago with farmers looking for a friendly competition, socialization, and most importantly bragging rights. As time has passed and many things in life have changed these desires have remained the same. Tractors pull encompass a wide variety of pulling classes, from antiques, farm stock, and super farm stock to name a few. Included in all of this now is the pulling of garden tractors. These aren’t you average lawn mowers. These powerful machines can pull astonishing amounts of weight and are geared for the entire family from kids to grandparents and everyone in between. Competitors pull to for the feeling of accomplishment and maybe get some bragging rights. This is truly a family event. We encourage all to come and watch

Sunday: Tri-State Truck & Tractor Pullers

When it comes to man vs. machine, arguably Truck and Tractor Pulling carries that banner over all other forms of motorsports. Pulling is widely known as the world’s most powerful motorsport. That part certainly makes sense.

Over the years, the massive tractors have become more modified and lighter, and the engines that power the machines have grown into multifaceted, fire-breathing monsters that rocket down the track. The sport slowly transitioned into what we see today. It has often been said that the term ‘horsepower’ was derived from this event.

SUNDAY: MASS MINI TRACTOR PULLS

SUNDAY: MASS MINI TRACTOR PULLS

(Mass Mini Tractor Pullers)

Many years ago, farmers invented pulling as a challenge to prove who owned the strongest and fittest team of horses. Tied to a wooden sled piled high with bags of wheat, grain, or sand, the owner’s team would pull the sled to see whose could move the sled the greatest distance. As steam and gas powered vehicles began taking over the work done by horses, so it was that these early machines found themselves in the pulling arena. Today, tractor pulling has become one of the most aggressive forms of competition as a show of brute power and strength. Unlike most other forms of vehicular competition, such as racing, where a racer may rely on speed and his ability to handle such speed to be first in his category of competition, a puller will rely on POWER, along with training and instinct to get the most out of his vehicle.
